Colour play.
Colour is a fickle subject. Colours change, depending on where they are and who they are with. Our perception of colours change and they illicit different responses from different people. Ironically moving to the shape of a circle in woodcut, I once again had to think again about the material, because it was setting the limits. What timber, how thick, how porous, how soft, or how hard? All these questions determined what I could muster as a printmaker. So, a simple idea, I planned to stick with a circle and play with the colours that I connected with the most- orange, pink, green, blue, yellow, red. These prints were made in no particular order of colours or any set reasoning past the aim to make a committed exploration of what colours do and how they interact with one another.
